Celebrating Our Volunteers
Our weekend began with a special evening as our church family worshipped together on Good Friday. We even had to bring out the overflow chairs! Jessica led a children's message where she shared the gospel and a simple rhyme: Friday was sad, Sunday is glad. It was a reminder of Christ's death upon the cross coupled with the recognition that it didn't end there. He is risen! Good Friday capped off with a powerful skit by our youth. It really was a special night.
The next morning was our annual Easter Outreach. We are grateful for all of the hard work everyone put in! It was such a fun event thanks to our wonderful volunteers who committed their time and energy to serve the people of our church and our community. Everything from stuffing eggs to leading games was volunteer-run. Together, we ministered to over 90 children and 55 adults as they made crafts, played games, sang songs, heard the gospel and hunted for 3,600+ eggs!
And finally, we had a wonderful time in worship during our Easter services. Those who came to celebrate our Lord's resurrection were treated to handbells, choir and children specials along with a lovely hula performance. We were then challenged not to be consumed with fear, but to go out and tell others about what Jesus accomplished on our behalf. After all, the Good News of the Gospel isn't confined to one day. It's meant to be shared every day of the year and with all!
What a wonderful time in the life of Mililani Baptist! This weekend was a testimony to the potential our church has to greatly transform our community in Jesus' Name. A weekend only made possible by so many volunteers to whom we say mahalo nui loa!
