I hope you enjoyed our time of spiritual renewal this past weekend at MBC. It was truly a special time to be together as a church family. From the wonderful messages that our guest speaker Mike McQuitty shared with us, to the joyous time of fellowship that we had, it was easy to see God moving in the hearts of people.
One of the things that I took away from this weekend was that we as a church family aren't special because of who we are or because of what we are doing; rather it's because of who God is. The messages from the book of Acts reminded me that God is accomplishing so much more than we sometimes even dare to dream of. We often settle merely for what we think we are capable of doing.
The early church saw God break down barriers and move in mighty ways, even in the midst of strong opposition. The church flourished in the midst of persecution, suffering, and strife as they continued to proclaim the truth of the Gospel at every turn. Threats from rulers didn't keep them from proclaiming Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
Renewal is great, but we have been called to something even better. We must continue to push against boundaries that rise up before us. We must strive to walk in purpose of unity. We must steadfastly speak of what Jesus Christ has done. We must continue to seek God's will in all things and allow Him the opportunity to accomplish that will in and through us.
The future is bright at MBC, but it's not because of who we are, it's because of who Christ is in us!
